18 Jun WRM’s 11th Annual Fishin’ For The Mission Fundraiser A Success
Casper, WY — The Wyoming Rescue Mission is thrilled to announce the record-breaking success of its 11th Annual Fishin’ for the Mission fundraiser, held on June 5 and 6, 2024. An impressive $104,326 was raised, underscoring the event’s vital role in supporting the Wyoming Rescue Mission’s Discipleship Recovery Program. Each year men and women from around the state of Wyoming come together to put their angling skills to the test while contributing and giving back to the guests of Wyoming Rescue Mission.
The festivities commenced on Wednesday, June 5, with a Guide Meet and Greet Dinner at The M, where participants enjoyed an excellent meal catered by Silver Fox and met their professional guides. This evening of fellowship and fun featured live music by the Wyoming Fiddlers Association and a video testimony from a recent graduate of the Wyoming Rescue Mission. Supporters and fishing participants had the opportunity to witness firsthand the life-changing efforts of the Mission and understand the significant impact of their generous contributions. The evening also included live and silent auction items, offering a variety of opportunities to bid on items generously donated by supporters in the community. A highlight of the night was the “Eclipse” sculpture, donated by local artist Chris Navarro, which became a highly coveted item, raising substantial funds for the Mission. The Guide Meet & Greet concluded with an exciting Calcutta auction, allowing for some competition while further increasing support for the Mission’s vital programs.
The fly-fishing tournament, held on June 6 at Red Butte Ranch, brought participation from supporters and fishing enthusiasts from across Wyoming. This year, Phillip and Isaac Cooper from Rocky Mountain Oilfield Warehouse claimed the championship. Blake and Shane Gamble secured second place, while Ryan Ford from Wyo Legal and Ray Pacheco took third place. Additional excitement included a great lunch, live music, and prizes for the biggest sucker fish and the smallest fish overall. Wyoming Rescue Mission extends heartfelt gratitude to participants and sponsors, whose contributions were instrumental in the success of this fundraiser. Special recognition goes to MPI Warehouse, Takkion, and Peterbilt of Wyoming for their Presenting Sponsorship level support. Additionally, a huge thanks is extended for the support of Event Sponsors, including Eagles Soaring LLC, Relic Services LLC, Jonah Bank of Wyoming, Deer Creek Dental, Wyo Legal, and Casper Orthopedics.
