10 Jan Wyoming Rescue Mission Provides Life-Saving Shelter and Outreach During Winter Weather
Casper, WY – As temperatures in Casper fall below freezing and nighttime lows reach single digits, Wyoming Rescue Mission provides safe shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness and actively seeks those who need help at the street level through its Street Outreach Ministry.
On January 9, 2025, the Wyoming Rescue Mission sheltered more than 150 men, women, and children. Wyoming Rescue Mission programs provide safety, nourishment, and essential resources for anyone in need during the winter months and throughout the year.
Winter Emergency Support Includes:
- Safe Shelter for All – Men, women, and children are given shelter each night, offering critical protection from the dangerous cold.
- Hot & Nutritious Meals – Over 180 meals are served daily, providing much-needed nourishment and comfort during the coldest months.
- Warm Winter Clothing – Coats, clothing, and shoes are distributed, though the demand often exceeds supply.
In addition to providing shelter, meals, and clothing, Wyoming Rescue Mission’s Street Outreach Ministry proactively engages individuals who remain houseless, seeking to offer hope and connection where it is needed most. Wyoming Rescue Mission’s Street Outreach Ministry educates individuals at the street level about available resources at Wyoming Rescue Mission. The team also offers water, hats, gloves, socks, conversation, and prayer when appropriate for those in need.
Community Involvement Is Crucial
Wyoming Rescue Mission relies on the community’s support to meet these urgent needs. There are several ways to help:
- Donations can be made to provide shelter, meals, and clothing by visiting wyomission.org.
- Volunteers can join the Street Outreach Ministry and help engage with individuals in need at the street level.
- Contributions of new or gently used coats, boots, and winter essentials can be dropped off at Wyoming Rescue Mission (230 N Park St).
Extreme winter weather presents a significant risk to local men, women, and children who have no choice but to sleep outside. For more information or to get involved, contact Adam Flack at (307) 473-6948 and visit wyomission.org.
