31 Dec Final Day to Provide Twice the Meals and Care for Casper’s Homeless
CASPER, WY – Wyoming Rescue Mission is seeing a 15% increase in the number of guests seeking safe shelter and hot meals in Casper. Anyone in need of a hot meal or a warm bed is welcome to receive emergency services at the Park Street Center (230 N. Park Street, Casper). Wyoming Rescue Mission also offers a highly successful long term recovery program, where 85-90% of graduates are maintaining sobriety and employment a year after graduation. 65% of all guests served are from Natrona County.
Now, thanks to a special year-end matching challenge, any donation made by midnight, December 31, 2024, will be doubled. The year-end matching challenge is made possible through the support of three generous philanthropists, who wish to remain anonymous. They urge the community to collectively contribute $85,000 to provide emergency shelter, meals, recovery services, mental health counseling and care for guests at the Wyoming Rescue Mission. They will contribute an additional $85,000.
“We are deeply grateful to our community for stepping up time and time again to support our work,” Wyoming Rescue Mission Executive Director Brad Hopkins said. “This matching challenge is an incredible opportunity to make an immediate and lasting difference in the lives of those we serve. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or considering a first-time gift, there has never been a better time to give. We also invite anyone interested to stop by for a tour and learn more about how we restore hope and transform lives.”
Wyoming Rescue Mission continues to see a rising number of individuals and families in need of assistance. Wyoming Rescue Mission provided safe shelter for over 160 individuals including eight families and 18 children last night.
Donations to the year-end matching challenge can be made online at wyomission.org or mailed to Wyoming Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 2030, Casper, WY 82602. All gifts must be received or postmarked by December 31, 2024, to qualify for the match.
