POSITION OPENING – Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician helps to provide sanctuaries of hospitality by ensuring that the facility, grounds, equipment, and vehicles are properly maintained to provide a safe environment for the guests of Wyoming Rescue Mission. This position is Full-Time Non-Exempt.
A. Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and confess Him as their personal Lord and Savior. (John 3:16, Acts 4:12)
B. Endeavor to live a Godly life in public and private, thereby providing a Christian role model for those we seek to reach. (1 Peter 1:13-16)
C. Agree with the WRM Statement of Faith.
A. High school diploma or GED required.
B. Prefer a minimum of two years of facility maintenance.
C. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
D. Ability to prioritize maintenance request and scheduled maintenance.
E. Must be able to work flexible hours.
F. Good verbal and written communication skills.
G. Proficient in Microsoft office products.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Grow spiritually in the Lord through prayer, memorization, meditation and study of the Word, and unity in Christian fellowship. (2 Peter 1:5-8, 2 Peter 3:18)
B. Be a consistent witness for Jesus in attitude, speech, and actions demonstrating a daily walk with Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 4:1-3, Ephesians 5:3-5)
C. Encourage guests, staff, volunteers, and customers to accept God’s gift of salvation and grow in their faith. (Romans 15:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:11,14)
D. Join in corporate worship and instruction with an external group of believers whose beliefs are in agreement with the WRM Statement of Faith. (Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 10:24-25)
E. Faithfully uphold WRM’s ministry in prayer. (1 Timothy 2:1
A. Act as an advocate for the homeless, poor, and marginalized by raising the awareness of the causes, needs, and potential of those in poverty.
B. Maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of WRM.
C. Inspecs buildings to determine functional systems are operational, detect malfunctions and needed repair to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
D. Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) and determines when an electrician is required.
E. Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.) and determines when a plumber is required.
F. Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
G.Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide.
H. Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed.
I. Monitor and schedules vehicles for regular maintenance including but not limited to oil changes, tires, and tune-ups.
J. Ensure all vehicles have required licenses, tags, and insurance documents in the vehicle.
K. Perform immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility
L. Order parts and maintain required documents.
M. Transport goods or equipment as assigned.
N. All other tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance & Administration.
Note: Ability to travel locally and statewide is required with limited out of state travel.
