POSITION OPENING – Director of Operations
The Director of Operations is a member of the Director team and will contribute to the strategic vision of the organization through discerning the Will of God. Taking the strategic vision and turning it into reality through planning specific operational objectives, personnel and financial resource development and stewardship, managing performance, and monitoring progress in achieving the vision. This position is Full-Time Exempt.
A. Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and confess Him as their personal Lord and Savior. (John 3:16, Acts 4:12)
B. Endeavor to live a Godly life in public and private, thereby providing a Christian role model for those we seek to reach. (1 Peter 1:13-16)
C. Agree with the WRM Statement of Faith.
A. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, related degree.
B. Five-years of business and or nonprofit management experience.
C. Proven ability in effective communication with diverse constituents.
D. Excellent personal time management and organizational skills.
E. Computer competency, along with skilled working knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks, and various software applications.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Grow spiritually in the Lord through prayer, memorization, meditation and study of the Word, and unity in Christian fellowship. (2 Peter 1:5-8, 2 Peter 3:18)
B. Be a consistent witness for Jesus in attitude, speech, and actions demonstrating a daily walk with Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 4:1-3, Ephesians 5:3-5)
C. Encourage guests, staff, volunteers, and customers to accept God’s gift of salvation and grow in their faith. (Romans 15:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:11,14)
D. Join in corporate worship and instruction with an external group of believers whose beliefs are in agreement with the WRM Statement of Faith. (Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 10:24-25)
E. Faithfully uphold WRM’s ministry in prayer. (1 Timothy 2:1
A. Act as an advocate for the homeless, poor, and marginalized by raising the awareness of the causes, needs, and potential of those in poverty.
B. Maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of WRM.
C. As a member of the Director’s Team, the Director of Operations will participate in strategic planning, and development and evaluation of financial management strategy, ministry effectiveness, and donor development.
D. Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the Executive Director informed of all critical issues.
E. Maintain and improve systems of internal controls to safeguard assets, including financial, of the organization.
F. Collaborate with the Executive Director, Development and Programs to build and present an approved zero balance operating budget each year prior to the start of the fiscal year.
G. Oversee and direct the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including preparation of all monthly financial reports, reports to the Executive Director, annual audit, Form 990’s, and other reports as needed.
H. The Director of Operations will also report to the Board Finance Committee detail monthly financials and assist the Treasurer, as needed for financial reporting to the full board.
I. Manage administration staff and vendors (including banking, insurance, and legal) to ensure all activities are carried out with accuracy in a timely manner, including payroll and tax reporting.
J. Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking and lease negotiations.
K. Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process.
L. Manage the Human Resources needs of WRM including pre-employment screening, hiring and dismissal of employees (with ED approval), along with industry standard documentation of confidential employee files.
M. Evaluate and recommend appropriate employee benefit plans and other fringe benefits which the organization does/may offer with the goal of attracting and retaining qualified individuals.
N. Work with Development to ensure sound and sufficient fundraising practices, and provide direction with Direct Mail, Foundations, and Events.
O. Provide strategy and oversight to WRM IT operations, ensuring adequate services, infrastructure and software to accomplish WRM objectives.
P. Ensure all WRM facilities and vehicles are properly maintained and comply with federal, state, and local codes, ordinances, and receive required inspections.
Q. Direct kitchen operations to provide excellent service to guests through various kitchen programs while maintaining proper food handling safety, quality, and guest-service standards.
R. Establishes store business plan, develops and implements marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs; evaluating program results, and increase social enterprise revenue.
S. Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization
T. Provide oversight and guidance to ensure compliance with all governing regulations.
U. All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Note: Ability to travel locally and statewide is required with limited out of state travel.
